Really happy with how this turned out, again thank you for everybody’s support and help during the process. I wish I could have streamed part of this but livestream still confuses me. (Have no clue how to use the new livestream ashdjkasdh)
I’m quite sure everyone is sick of these wips, so don’t worry this should be the last one till I finish up and submit it as a finished done piece.
The short fur on Kari’s muzzle and face is killing my hand >_< I’ve never actually painted fur like this before, so this is crazy. Not quite turning out the way I want to, but it’s a learning process! :)

Have another wip of this! Finished another ear and all of the neck. Moved onto the nose and later… the dreaded muzzle and face ;_;
Thank you so much for for the critique from this lovely artist, Mothified who suggested that I add more blue tones into the highlights and shadows to blend better with the background. (You can’t really see it in this screenshot but I’ve tried to do exactly that by putting a new layer over the top for blue and purple tones.) Thank you again for the really awesome advice, and I really appreciate all the comments you leave <3

Defined shadows a bit more, moving onto detailing everything now whoop whoop…
Collar and a patch of neck fur done. Trying out this new furring technique (seems like every painting I do, I do something new with my technique. Hm :\ None of them seem to nail down the exact quality I’m going for either)
Showing my layers as well, I merge everything of the character into one layer and the background is split into 4 (because of the layer styles that mess stuff up if merged). I like combining layers because it minimizes memory usage and I can paint over things quicker. Downside is I can’t go ‘back’ and redo things like the lineart.

Background finished, first time drawing a night scene, northern lights, stars and planets. This was really interesting to do, had to fight it a little in some areas but I’m quite happy with how it turned out for a first try.
Mapping out lights and shadows now, the dreaded shading is coming up…
Critique and tips on the light would be very helpful!

Another wip of the commission! I really want to do a cool starscape or northern lights style background for this one. I thought it would suit the character with her white fur and bright blue eyes hehe :) Planning to have another go at lineless fur for Kari. Not sure how that’ll turn out but I’m quite excited for the result.
